Burgess Bait Aeration System

Harry Burgess has been fishing the Gulf Coast and bay areas for over 40 years and knows the challenge of keeping bait and other marine animals alive. He developed the Burgess Bait Aerator out of desperation. He just got tired of all the others not working.

Why it works

The Burgess Bait Aerator was developed using technology from the oil industry. Drilling rigs use degassers to separate and remove gasses from mud. Burgess Manufacturing, Inc. has been a leader in manufacturing these degassers for 35 years. What Burgess tried was reversing the principles that make their degassers work. Instead of extracting oxygen gasses, they added oxygen to the water. The biggest difference between Burgess Bait Aerator and other aerators is low amperage and low current which is achieved using the technology Burgess developed. It didn't happen over night. It took 8 years to achieve the successful design.

Bait Systems

Burgess Marine Products offer Bait Systems to meet your personal requirements:

  • Guides Pro™
  • Offshore Pro™

Whether

you're fishing from a boat, on a beach or off a pier Burgess Marine Pro will provide you with the Bait Aeration System that will keep your bait catch alive.

The Burgess Advantage!

Revolutionary

The revolutionary Burgess Bait Aerator is available in two sizes. The Guides Pro, using only 1/2 AMP is for the everyday fisherman, professionals, guides and anyone else that might use a small container or one as big as ninety quarts. The Offshore Pro draws 1 AMP and is for use on larger fishing boats, shrimpers, transports or any large commercial application. In an emergency, it can be used as a bilge pump. The Guides Pro discharges 7.5 gallons of water per minute and the Offshore Pro discharges 21 gallons per minute. The pump impeller's unique patented process thoroughly mixes air into the water while operating at allow amperage. This process will not heat the water and does not create a strong water current. It also allows your battery to last 3 to 5 times longer. The patented design is non-clogging and has no filters to clean. It floats for maximum efficiency and the twist-lok action provides easy access inside.

Harry Burgess says the response to his aerator has been overwhelming. Everyone that has tried it has reported a positive experience. One fisherman tells that he successfully used the Guides Pro to haul 42 live bass, averaging one pound each, from Tennessee to Houston in a 100 quart container. Once you've tried the Burgess Bait Aerator, you'll never need another. And there's still more to come from Burges Marine Products, Inc. You'll soon see a totally self-contained aeration system for fishing boats which includes a holding tank. You can purchase a Burgess Bait Aerator at sporting goods and fishing/tackle stores. How many times have you been out fishing with live bait and, just a few hours into the trip, discovered that all of your bait is dead?

Probably, too many times, maybe every time.

And what about transporting fish or other marine life? Do you constantly have to stop and add fresh water and still risk losing all of the catch?

This seems to be a dilemma all fisherman face when using standard aerators. Why? A standard aerator uses so many amps to operate that it gradually heats the water. Oxygen escapes faster out of hot water than out of cold water, killing whatever is trying to live in it. Furthermore, standard aerators cause your bait to bunch up because of the water current created by the forced air.

The Burgess Bait Aerator was developed using technology from the oil field industry. Drilling rigs use degassers to separate and remove gasses from mud. Burgess Manufacturing, Ltd. has been a leader in the manufacturing of these degassers for 35 years. Burgess reversed the principles that make their degassers work. Instead of extracting oxygen and gasses, they drive oxygen into the water, regardless of temperature. The biggest difference between the Burgess Bait Aerator and other aerators is low amperage (one-half amps) which is achieved using the technology Burgess developed. It did not happen overnight. It took eight years to achieve the successful design.

The pump impeller's unique, patented process thoroughly mixes and directly drives air into the water while operating at a low amperage. This process will not heat the water and does not create a strong water current. Also, it allows your battery to last three to five times longer. The Patented design is non-clogging and has no filters to clean. It floats for maximum efficiency. The twist-lock assembly provides easy inside access (no tools require).

Guides Pro

This aerator uses only one-half amp and is for the everyday fisherman, professionals, guides and anyone else who might use a small container - or one as big as 90 quarts.

Offshore Pro

This aerator draws one amp and is for use on larger fishing boats, shrimpers, transports or any other large commercial application.

In an emergency, these aerators can be used as a bilge pump. The Guides Pro discharges 7.5 gallons of water per minute. The Offshore Pro discharges 21 gallons of water per minute.

Everyone who has tried these aerators has reported a positive experience.

One fisherman tells us that he successfully used the Guides Pro to haul 42 live bass, averaging one pound each, from Tennessee to Houston in a 100 quart container.

By mistake, a guide left his live shrimp in a boat bait well for three days. He returned to find the shrimp still alive - and the aerator still running.

Once you have tried the Burgess Bait Aerator, you will never need another.

You can purchase your Burgess Bait Aerator at sporting goods stores, fishing/tackle stores, bait camps, marinas, etc.

Wiring Instructions

Make all wire connections above the highest possible water level, using marine grade wire connectors only. Waterproof all connections with suitable material.

NOTE: Failure to waterproof connections and fuse pump properly will void warranty.

1. Splice suitable lengths of brown and black 16-gauge wire to existing pump wiring, enough to reach ON/OFF switch and battery.

2. Using insulated terminal connectors, connect positive lead (brown) to the ON/OFF switch. Connect negative lead (black) to ground.

3. In a location easily accessible for changing fuses, splice fuse holder into positive lead (brown). The fuse holder must be installed within 72" (183 cm) of the positive (+) battery terminal.

  • Simply add hose
  • Submerge aerator
  • Unit becomes a standard bilge pump
Discharge:

Guides Pro - 7.5 Gallons per minute
